Awesome opportunity to lead the policy research and advocacy of an innovative and dynamic organization
The Open Technology Institute (OTI) at the New America Foundation is looking for a new Policy Director. After almost three years serving as Policy Director of OTI and nearly a decade working in the media and communications public interest community in Washington, D.C., I am moving north to NYC and transitioning to a Senior Research Fellow for the organization. It is a bittersweet change, particularly for someone who helped get OTI off the ground and watched its rapid growth and development over the past several years. But I am looking forward to contributing to OTI's work and policy research in new ways.
The Policy Director position is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and experienced policy advocate. OTI is a dynamic and innovative organization that brings together technologists, community organizers, and policy thinkers seeking to promote ubiquitous communication through grounded research, technological innovation, and policy advocacy. We promote affordable and universal communications through partnerships with communities, researchers, industry and public interest groups. OTI is committed to maximizing the potential of innovative open technologies for poor, rural, and other underserved constituencies.
The Policy Director will direct OTI's domestic and international policy work including education, advocacy, and developing in-depth, objective research, analysis, and findings for policy decision-makers and the general public. If you are committed to the above goals and want to lead a growing team of exceptional technology and communication policy experts, you can now apply at http://newamerica.net/node/87200.
The deadline to apply for this position is August 2, 2013.
